Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks, a doctor, Army veteran, mother, and grandmother, issued the following statement after the United States Supreme Court upheld state laws protecting girls’ and women’s sports, including Iowa’s.
“Today is a win for fairness and common sense, and a victory for every girl in Iowa who earns her place on the podium,” said Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks. “For years the radical left waged an assault on women’s sports. Today our daughters won.”
“Fairness for our daughters should never have been controversial,” Miller-Meeks continued. “The Court upheld the protections we fought for, and it gave every young woman the level playing field she earned.”
“Christina Bohannan made the opposite choice. She voted to let biological males compete against Iowa’s
daughters, and she wanted Iowa taxpayers to fund gender reassignment surgery she called a ‘human rights issue,’” Miller-Meeks said. “She put a radical agenda first and tried to send working families the bill. I fight for your daughters and your paycheck, every single time.”
