Matt and Heather Bombei of Keokuk County have been named 2026 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame honorees in recognition of more than 20 years of dedicated service to the Keokuk County 4-H program, according to a social media post from Iowa State University Extension Keokuk County.
Heather has served as a Clover Kids Leader and, most recently, as a member of the Keokuk County Extension Council. Matt volunteered as the Swine Superintendent, supporting countless youth in the livestock program while their sons Luke and Jacob exhibited swine throughout their own 4-H careers. Both Luke and Jacob proudly represented Keokuk County at the Keokuk County Expo and the Iowa State Fair. Today, Matt and Heather are watching their two grandchildren begin their own 4-H journeys, carrying on the family traditions that have meant so much to them over the years.
Matt and Heather will be recognized during the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Iowa State Fair on Sunday, August 23rd at 3:30 p.m. in the 4-H Exhibits Building. The ceremony honors volunteers from across Iowa whose dedication and service have left a lasting impact on their local 4-H programs.
