Jefferson County Health Center has announced the addition of Dr. Florita Henderson, MD, FACP, a board-certified internal medicine physician, to JCHC Clinic in Ottumwa, according to a press release from JCHC.
Dr. Henderson brings more than 20 years of combined clinical and research experience to the position. She specializes in internal medicine and is dedicated to helping patients live healthier lives through compassionate, personalized care. Her areas of focus include preventive care, chronic disease management, and geriatric medicine, with an emphasis on building lasting patient relationships that support long-term health and wellness.
Dr. Henderson earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Saint Louis University in the Philippines before completing a research fellowship at the University of Iowa and internal medicine residency training in both the United Kingdom and at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She is board certified in internal medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians — a distinction reflected in the FACP credential she holds. In 2021, she received the Laureate Award from the American College of Physicians — Iowa Chapter in recognition of her dedication to excellence in medicine and service to her patients and profession.
