Iowa’s state climatologist says a good portion of the state has received some timely rains this week.
Justin Glisan tells Brownfield that’s good news for row crop growers in areas that have been dealing with dry spells.
“Soybeans are a little more drought resistant or dryness resistant versus corn during the pollination stage. Not too much of a concern in talking with field agronomists.”
He says cooler temperatures are expected the rest of the week.
“Timely rainfalls over the next couple of weeks will be critical for protecting yield potential both in corn and soybeans.”
Glisan says outlooks suggest another warmup could come around the first week of August.
