Edward Hallowell, 69, of Sigourney, Iowa, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Edward DuBois Hallowell III, son of Edward DuBois and Ruth Ann (McNabb) Hallowell, was born on August 28, 1956, in Camden, New Jersey. He grew up in Pennsauken, New Jersey, until he was five years old. His family then moved to Big Pine Key, Florida, for one year, and later to Perrine, Florida, where he lived through 8th grade. The family then moved to Hollywood, Florida, where Edward attended Hollywood Hills High School and was part of the graduating class of 1975. After graduation, he was employed by Rinker Materials (a building supply company). He moved to Columbus, Ohio, in the mid-1990s. He eventually reached his final city, Sigourney, in 2002 and was employed by Walmart for 10 years.
Edward was a faithful attendant of Life House Church in Oskaloosa. His faith was paramount, and he found great solace in John 3:16.
Those left to cherish Edward’s memory are his sister, Carol (Gary) Fry of Waxhaw, North Carolina; his brother, Bruce (Marilyn) Hallowell of Terrell, North Carolina; five nieces; three nephews; and 20 great-nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Edward will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Life House Church in Oskaloosa, Iowa, with Pastor Adam Kyle officiating. Edward’s ashes will be scattered at the family farm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Life House Church. Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with Edward’s final wishes.
