Prevent Child Abuse Iowa (PCA Iowa) will officially conclude its operations on June 30, 2026, marking the end of the organization’s office operations and staff positions.
To ensure child abuse prevention efforts continue across the state, Prevent Child Abuse Iowa has spent the past several months working alongside Iowa ACEs 360 to develop a transition plan. Once legal and operational processes are finalized, Iowa ACEs 360 is expected to assume responsibility for continuing PCA Iowa’s mission, partnerships, and prevention initiatives.
Planning for the transition began in the fall of 2025 as both organizations recognized significant changes affecting Iowa’s prevention landscape. Nonprofit organizations throughout the state continue to face shifting funding sources, evolving community needs, and increasing pressure to provide services with fewer resources.
Despite the organizational transition, leaders say the commitment to preventing child abuse, reducing childhood trauma, and strengthening families through early intervention remains unchanged.
