The City of Ottumwa has announced office closures and service changes in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
City Hall departments and offices, along with the Ottumwa Water and Hydro offices, will be closed on Friday, July 3. The Ottumwa, Calvary, and Jewish Cemetery office, located at 1302 North Court Street, will also be closed that day.
The Ottumwa Public Library will be closed on Saturday, July 4.
The Ottumwa/Wapello Recycling Center and Landfill will be closed on Saturday, July 4.
Residents should note that waste collection schedules will not be affected by the holiday and will operate as normal.
Those planning to visit The Beach Ottumwa can enjoy the outdoor areas during regular holiday weekend hours. However, morning swim on Saturday, July 4, has been canceled. Park hours remain subject to change based on weather conditions.
City officials encourage residents to plan ahead for any services affected by the holiday and wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Independence Day weekend.
