A Knoxville man is facing a misdemeanor charge after authorities say he violated a court-issued no-contact order during a traffic stop in Marion County earlier this week.
On June 22 at approximately 1:49 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol conducted a routine traffic stop on Erbe Street.
According to a criminal complaint, the driver, 29-year-old Buddy Felt of Knoxville, was stopped by a state trooper. Court records state there were two occupants in the vehicle. After both individuals were identified, troopers discovered the passenger was the protected party in a valid and active no-contact order involving Felt.
Felt was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is being held on a $1,000 bond.
He is charged with violation of a no-contact/protective order, a simple misdemeanor. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 29.
