The Knoxville City Council will discuss the future of several city-owned properties during its meeting tonight.
Council members are expected to consider declaring three buildings as surplus property and authorizing their sale. The buildings include the current municipal building, the fire station, and the former laundry building located in the Veterans District.
The proposed sales come as city departments prepare to move into Knoxville’s new city facilities, which are currently under construction. The laundry building has also remained vacant within the VA District redevelopment area.
In other business, the council will hear a proclamation recognizing National Garden Week and consider a one-year lease extension for the Knoxville Senior Center.
The meeting is scheduled to conclude with two separate closed sessions.
The Knoxville City Council will meet at 6:15 p.m. tonight at City Hall.
