The Jefferson County Farm Bureau has named Alexis “Lexi” Megrath, a senior at Fairfield High School, as one of this year’s scholarship recipients.
Megrath is the daughter of Paul and Amy Megrath. Following graduation, she plans to attend Mount Mercy University, where she will major in Marketing.
Throughout her high school career, Megrath has been actively involved in Dance and Drill, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Marching Band, Concert Band, and Key Club. She has also held several leadership roles, serving as Dance and Drill Captain, Key Club Treasurer, and Color Guard Captain, and overseeing FBLA membership.
Agriculture plays an important role in Megrath’s life through her family’s multi-generational farm. “Agriculture is so important because not only does it keep family farms going, but it provides jobs and opportunities for people of all ages,” she said.
After college, Megrath plans to return to Fairfield with a goal of working for the city or the local chamber of commerce to help promote and share information about the community. She also plans to continue dancing at the collegiate level and hopes to eventually return home to coach the high school dance team and teach at a local studio.
The Jefferson County Farm Bureau congratulates Megrath on the achievement and wishes her success in her educational pursuits and future career.
