Iowa Archers Earn National Honors at NASP Championship

Several Iowa student archers turned in outstanding performances at the 2026 National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Championship, held June 18-20 in Daytona Beach, Florida, earning Top 10 finishes and national scholarship awards. The championship brought together top qualifiers from across the country to compete in Bullseye and 3D events.

In the Bullseye competition, Center Point-Urbana High School’s Emily Mourlam finished third in the High School Girls division with a score of 293, while South Tama County High School’s Ava Boldt placed ninth with a 292. In the Middle School Girls division, Sophia Mormann of Anamosa Middle School earned third place with a 290. At the elementary level, Emma Even of Jesup Elementary placed seventh among girls with a 275, and Tristan Pansegrau of River Valley Elementary finished ninth among boys with a 280.

Iowa archers also excelled in the 3D competition. Ava Boldt captured the High School Girls national championship with an impressive score of 298. Sophia Mormann added a fifth-place finish in the Middle School Girls division with a 289. Oelwein Wings Park Elementary’s Mason Anfinson placed seventh in the Elementary Boys division with a 280, while teammate Genevieve Weber finished eighth among Elementary Girls with a 270.

Two Iowa archers also earned prestigious scholarship awards during the NASP Scholarship Shoot-off, which features the top five archers from the combined Eastern and Western National tournaments. Ava Boldt won the girls’ 3D Scholarship Shoot-off, receiving a $5,000 scholarship, while Emily Mourlam finished as runner-up and received a $4,000 scholarship.
