Two Pekin seniors will continue their athletic careers at the next level staying in southeast Iowa, as Nolan Glick and Cole Millikin have both signed with Southeastern Community College in West Burlington.

Nolan Glick — Baseball

Glick will pitch for the Southeastern Community College baseball program, where he plans to study finance or business alongside his athletic career.

Southeastern Community College Baseball Head Coach Justin Schulte is eager to get Glick on the mound. “We are excited about Nolan joining our program. Nolan has a great arm and a lot of untapped potential that we hope translates into a very competitive college pitcher by the time he leaves Southeastern,” Schulte said.

Glick was a key contributor to a Pekin baseball program that finished 12-10 last season — the Panthers’ first above-.500 record since the 2020-21 season — and advanced to a Substate 5 Championship game, where they fell 1-0 to Hillcrest Academy in a tight battle. Glick pitched two shutout innings at the end of that game.

As a junior, Glick hit .324 with 22 hits, including 17 singles, two doubles, and three home runs, adding 10 RBIs at the plate. On the mound, he started eight games and appeared in 12, going 5-1 with one save while holding opposing batters to a .169 batting average across 45 innings. His ERA for the season was 1.56.

Southeastern Community College competes in the NJCAA, and Glick will be joining a baseball program that is among the best in the country at the junior college level. As of May 7th, 2026, the Blackhawks carry a 43-13 record and are ranked seventh in the nation in NJCAA Division II baseball — a program with proven pedigree that figures to challenge Glick from day one.

Cole Millikin — Cross Country

Millikin will run cross country at Southeastern Community College, where he plans to study exercise science.

Southeastern Community College Track and Field Head Coach Lucas Keifer said Millikin’s reputation preceded him. “We are really excited about Cole Millikin joining us. He is a talented cross country and track athlete, and everything we have heard from his coaches and administration has been extremely positive. He’s a hard worker with a great work ethic, and every conversation I’ve had with him he has been nothing but respectful. You can just tell he is going to be a great addition to our program both on and off the course,” Keifer said.

Millikin was instrumental in helping the Pekin boys cross country team qualify for the state meet this past fall, claiming a first-place individual finish at the state qualifier and finishing 33rd at the state meet. This spring, he has continued to be a reliable distance runner for the Pekin track and field team, picking up multiple event wins throughout the season.

Millikin will be joining a Southeastern Community College program that is coming off one of its strongest seasons in recent memory. The Blackhawks compete in NJCAA Division II, and the men’s cross country program earned national recognition during the 2025-26 season, with multiple All-Region honors and strong ICCAC postseason awards. Standout performers Parker Quinlan and Jackson Shacklett helped establish the program as one to watch heading into the coming years — a competitive environment that should suit a driven athlete like Millikin well.
