Emergency crews responded to a serious crash involving a pedestrian and a semi-truck along Highway 34 West, causing traffic to be reduced to one lane while first responders worked at the scene.

The pedestrian was airlifted by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.
