Mary Rowe, 71, of Ottumwa died at 12:00 a.m. May 10, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
She was born August 7, 1954 in Iowa City to Emmanuel Curtis and Myrtle Jane Shaw Receveur. She married John Schultz and he preceded her in death. Mary married Freddie Lee Rowe December 10, 2005.
A resident of Ottumwa most of he life, Mary lived in Ankeny, IA, Lincoln, IL and La Plata, MO. She had worked at Wal-Mart, Casey’s General Store and at a local laundry.
Mary attended Park Meadows Baptist Church while living in Illinois. She attended Albia Road Baptist Church in Ottumwa for a short time, most recently attending Christ’s Church.
Surviving is her husband, Fred; children, Brian Yost of Ottumwa and Candy of Washington State; 2 step-daughters, Patricia Jerome of Cedar Falls and Cynthia Johnson of Pheonix, AZ; siblings, Stella Salter and Art (Nancy) Receveur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Mary Louise Receveur; sister, Jean Brownlee; and a brother, Emanuel Receveur Jr.
Her body has been cremated and services are not planned at this time.
