Jennifer Lynn Sanford, 49, of Ottumwa died at 6:05 a.m. May 3, 2026 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born August 17, 1976 in Ottumwa to Robert “Bob” and Julie Ingebritson Diveley. She married Jimmy Peek and they later divorced. She married Jeremy Sanford on January 16, 2004.
Jennifer earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Buena Vista University. She worked at Mr. Quicks, Taco Johns, Primus Telecommunications in Fairfield and was a manager at Goodwill. She was currently working at John Deere as a design coordinator.
Jennifer attended First Pentecostal Assembly of God. She was a volunteer for IJAG and Bio Girls. Jennifer enjoyed travelling, especially her trips to Scottland and Switzerland. She loved spending time with her family.
Surviving is her husband, Jeremy; 3 children, Shanda (Bryce) Findley, Dagan (Erica) Sanford and Drake Sanford all of Ottumwa; 2 grandchildren, Paxton Niner and Krue Findley; her mother, Julie (Jay) Peterson; her father, Bob (Lynn) Diveley; her grandmother, Bonnie Thies; siblings, Kelly (Richard) Schlotter of Ottumwa, Chris (Melissa) Diveley of North Liberty, Becky Zwack and Nick (Stephanie) Diveley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her uncle, Ronnie.
Visitation with her family present to greet friends will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday May 7th at Reece Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday May 8th at First Pentecostal Assembly of God with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating.
Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
