Fairfield’s 23rd Street Railroad Crossing to Close Thursday for Signal Improvements

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway will be conducting signal improvement work at the 23rd Street railroad crossing in Fairfield on Thursday, May 28th, requiring a temporary closure of the crossing, according to Fairfield City Engineer and Public Works Director Melanie Carlson.

Work is expected to begin at approximately 7:30 a.m. and the crossing is anticipated to reopen by 2:00 p.m. The closure includes the adjacent bike trail.

Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should plan to use alternative routes during the closure.
