Following last week’s joint meeting between the Fairfield City Council and the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors on Monday, May 18th, both governing bodies are now seeking broader public feedback on the topic of potential data center development and its related impacts within Jefferson County.

A 14-question public survey has been made available through the City of Fairfield website, open to residents, business owners, property owners, employees, and anyone else with a stake in Jefferson County’s future. The survey is expected to remain open through at least June 8th, 2026.

Officials noted that no additional joint meetings on the topic have been scheduled at this time. Survey responses are intended to help inform future discussions and do not represent official policy positions of either governing body.

The survey can be accessed at the City of Fairfield’s website. Community members are encouraged to participate and share their perspectives before the survey closes. Click here for the link.
