Eileen Lousie Taylor, 83, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on May 5, 2026 at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born on July 31, 1942, in Milton, Iowa to Lewis Joseph and Mabel Maxine Lunsford Allen. She grew up in the Milton area and graduated from Fox Valley High School in 1960. On May 27, 1961, she married Dale Taylor at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Dale passed away on May 27, 2022, their 61st anniversary.
Eileen worked as a bookkeeper for Hamilton’s Produce for several years and then begin working for REC Southern Iowa Electric Co-op in Bloomfield in the billing department. She worked at the REC for over 30 years, retiring in 2004. Eileen was an active member of the community and volunteered for many local organizations including: Bloomfield Welcome Center, 4-H, Cowbelle’s Association, and Pioneer Cemeteries. She was talented with arts and crafts – especially crocheting. She enjoyed entering her creations in the Davis County Fair every year. Eileen and Dale loved to go camping at the Davis County Fair, the Iowa State Fair, and the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion. The couple also enjoyed square dancing and spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Eileen will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Leisa (Jeff) Schuzer of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Lonnie (Carol) Taylor of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, Dexter (Michaela) Schuzer, John (Bre) Schuzer, Christa (Mike) Kingsbury, Alyssa (Bjorn) Bagnall, Kayla Taylor, Riley (Brianna) Newton, Dillon (Daylin) Newton; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet cat, Buddie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and great-granddaughter, Chloe Scout Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Don Naftz officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Pioneer Cemeteries and her family.
