A Burlington woman reported missing Tuesday evening has been found deceased, according to the Burlington Police Department.
Karen Kristine Aller, 69, of Burlington was reported missing on Tuesday, May 26th at approximately 7:15 p.m. She had last been seen around noon the previous day, Monday, May 25th. A search was initiated shortly after the missing person report was received but was temporarily halted after darkness fell. The search resumed the following morning.
At approximately 1:02 p.m. Wednesday, May 27th, Aller was located deceased in a wooded ravine area off Cascade Terrace in Burlington.
The cause and manner of death remain under investigation by the Burlington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. An autopsy will be conducted in the near future. At this time, foul play is not suspected and there is no danger to the community.
The Burlington Police Department thanked the family, friends, and others who assisted in the search efforts, as well as the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office and the Burlington Fire Department for their assistance during the search.
No additional information will be released at this time.
