Ashlin Jade Knuth, 18, of Ottumwa died at 11:23 p.m. May 17, 2026 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
She was born March 23, 2008 in Ottumwa to Jamie Allen and Serena Rose Knuth.
Ashlin was an animal lover. On her 12th birthday she was gifted her dog, Nova, who she loved very much. She volunteered hours of her time at Heartland Humane Society bringing home multiple pets including, a cat and her dog, Huey. Ashlin enjoyed playing volleyball while in middle school and while in high school enjoyed attending the homecoming dance and prom with her friends. She had worked at PTYC and grown a joy of working with kids.
She was a part of the Ottumwa High School class of 2026 and had walked at the graduation ceremony earlier in the day. While in high school, she attended Indian Hills Community College with plans of continuing her education at Indian Hills later this fall. After completing her degree at Indian Hills, she planned to attend the University of Northern Iowa with the intent of earning her degree in teaching.
Surviving are her parents, Jamie and Serena Knuth of Ottumwa; two brothers, Joseph and Elih; grandparents, James Allen Knuth, Toni (Todd) Braaksma, Debbie Knuth and Kendina McAntire; aunts and uncles, Kat Wick, Kyle Summers, Devin (Alba) Anderson, Codie Anderson (Desiray), Chasity Williams, Kenny D. (Jamie) McAntire, Billie (Rachel) Summers, Mike (Meagan) Perdew, Andrew Webber, Cody Maldonado, Mandi McAntire and Josh (Wendy) Britt; many cousins whom she enjoyed playing with and long term boyfriend, Kalan Moss.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Danny McAntire; and uncle, Kevin Wick.
Visitation will be open at 10 a.m. Friday May 22nd at Reece Funeral Home with her family present to greet friends from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday May 23rd at Reece Funeral Home with Doug McAntire officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
In Ashlin’s memory, memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospitals, both of which Ashlin had given and were important to her.
