Anthony Winzer II (The Guy), age 38, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was born on March 28, 1988, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Anthony Sr. and Rita Denise (Vineyard) Winzer. He attended school in Monett, Missouri. On October 28, 2023, he was united in marriage to Taylor Smith in Oskaloosa.
Early on Anthony worked at Sonic until taking a job at Wal-Mart for a time. He then started work at Georges and then EFCO. Later he went to work for La-Z-Boy before moving to Iowa and taking a job at Pella Corp while also working at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care. After several years at Pella Corp he was employed with Clow Valve in Oskaloosa where he was currently working. Anthony enjoyed music,woodworking, playing the guitar, fishing, firearms, fireworks and spending time with family. He was a collector of Lego sets, model cars, he especially loved his vinyl records.He had an enthusiasm for smoking meat and barbequing. Anthony loved traveling with his wife Taylor and attending concerts.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Taylor Winzer of Oskaloosa; his siblings, Christopher (Mohamed Alsheeb) Winzer and Sandra Winzer; his parents, Anthony Winzer Sr. and Rita Woodward; Shane and Esther Tucker Chosen brothers Ian (Kayla) Taylor, Andrew Gurwell, Erin Jackson, Lance (Kate) Breeding, Edward Bound, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and his dogs, Dime and Toot, his cat Bubbles.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry Winzer Sr. and Willie and Esther Vineyard; Sandra Rae Winzer, his mother-in-law, Christina Smith, Uncle Jerry Winzer Jr, and a dog, Floki.
As was his wish, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family
