Donna Hough, age 88, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Eddyville, passed away on May 3, 2026, at Northern Mahaska/Specialty Care Center surrounded by family.
She was born August 8, 1937, to Ida Mae (Scharff) Gilliland and Richard Gilliland in Oskaloosa. She married Bobby Dean Hough on December 20, 1959, in Lancaster, MO. Donna was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. She loved traveling with her post office family, camping, shopping, plants, puzzles, anything Indian, bingo, reading, and gambling. Donna was a proud member of the American Legion Lady’s Auxiliary.
Most of all, she loved being around her family and grandchildren. She is survived by three children: Vicky Witt of Eddyville, Pam (Leonard) Robison of Bloomfield, and Charlie (Jacque) Hough of Eddyville; two sisters, Judy Ellis of Arkansas and Bonnie Gilbert of Lovilia; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean; her parents, two sisters and their spouses; granddaughter Stacy Schwab; son-in-law, Roger Witt Sr.; one great-granddaughter; brothers-in-law; and aunts, uncles, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Faith Community Church with Pastor Teresa Miller. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service with Donna’s family present. An open visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the Faith Community Church from 5-7 pm. Interment will follow at Pleasant Corners Cemetery.
A luncheon will be held following burial at Melody’s. Memorials may be directed to the family and will be distributed to local animal shelters.
