Aaron Edward Heartley, 43, of rural Eddyville died May 21, 2026.
He was born May 13, 1983 in Ottumwa to Frank Edward and Nancy Diane Sparks Heartley. He married Tabitha Nicole Taft September 13, 2025.
A 2001 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Aaron worked 23 years at Pella Corp. He worked in various departments, most recently as a carpenter.
He enjoyed taking walks in the woods, fishing, canoeing, collecting arrowheads and shooting firearms. Aaron also enjoyed woodworking, making hunting knives and having a cold beer. He loved to cook, especially chicken & noodles as well as chili.
Surviving is his wife, Tabitha Heartley; his twin sons, Travis Heartley (fiancé, Kyra) and Thomas Heartley; a daughter, Maggie (Caleb) Robinson; step-children, Hanna Chance and her daughter, Emberlee, Winter Monohon and Kattleya Monohon; parents, Nancy and Roger Miller, and Frank Heartley all of Ottumwa; siblings, Amanda Sue (Wendell) Witt, Rebecca Ann (Jason) Barrios, Ryan (Lea) Miller and Nathan (Shiloh) Miller; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and great friends, Hank and Sammy.
Visitation will be open after 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27th at Reece Funeral Home with his family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 28th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Christensen officiating Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
