The Ottumwa Community School District is preparing to bring together young musicians from across the district for its 81st Annual All-City Concert, set for Friday, April 10, 2026. The performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Ottumwa High School Gymnasium at 501 E. Second Street.
The All-City Concert has long been a special milestone for students and their families, offering a chance to showcase months of practice and dedication. This year’s lineup will include performances from the Fourth Grade Recorder Ensemble, Fifth Grade Orchestra and Band, along with the Sixth and Seventh Grade Orchestra and Band.
Serving as emcee for the evening will be Pam DeBoer, a retired Ottumwa Schools music educator. Part of the program will highlight student achievements from February’s Solo Days, where several participants earned top I+ ratings. The event will also recognize standout performers from those sessions.
To close out the night, students will join together for a high-energy finale featuring “We Will Rock You.” The performance will begin with fourth graders leading, followed by the older orchestra and band students, before ending with an audience-inclusive chorus.
Admission is set at $5 for adults, while children can attend free of charge. Tickets will be available ahead of time or at the door, with funds supporting local music programs. For those unable to attend, the concert will be available via a live stream on the Bulldogs Network.
The district’s music program is supported by a team of educators, including general music instructors Mr. Zachary Archer, Ms. Abree Russell, Mrs. Kyla Schafer, Mr. Dennis Vasconez, and Ms. Jaymes Winn, along with instrumental instructors Mr. Kylee Martin, Ms. Angela McDonald, Ms. Helaina McCoy, Ms. Anne Schroeder, Mr. Luis Varona, and Mr. Henry Weberpal.
