The Iowa National Guard will welcome home to the state of Iowa Soldiers assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division who have recently returned to the United States.
As previously announced, this group is part of last week’s contingent of approximately 200 Soldiers returning from deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
There will be a welcome home ceremony honoring these returning Soldiers in Cedar Rapids this Wednesday, April 8th.
Not all Soldiers return at the same time, as movements are based on mission requirements, personnel needs, and transportation availability. This process ensures mission success while prioritizing the safe return of all service members.
The Iowa National Guard continues to recognize the dedication of those returning home, as well as the more than 500 Iowa National Guard Soldiers who remain deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
