UPDATE: As of 5:25 a.m. the highway has been reopened.
The westbound lane of Highway 34 just west of mile marker 210 is shut down following an overturned semi blocking traffic, according to a post from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office published at approximately 2:41 a.m.
The 210 on-ramp to head westbound on Highway 34 is also currently closed as a result of the incident. Drivers are being diverted west on Old Highway 34 to re-enter the main highway.
No additional details regarding injuries or the cause of the rollover were immediately available. Motorists in the area are asked to use caution and follow detour routes until the roadway is cleared.
