Henry Dee Inman, 74, of Bloomfield, Iowa, passed away on April 16, 2026, at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born on September 10, 1951, in Davis County, Iowa, to Reed and Neva Smothers Inman. He graduated from Davis County High School in 1969. Henry married Nancy Denny on July 21, 1973, in Bloomfield, Iowa. They later divorced. He married Gina Gipson on October 6, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Henry retired from John Deere Ottumwa Works in 2019.
Henry was a man who left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a natural ability to excel at anything he set his mind to—whether he was on the softball field, at the pool table, bird hunting, fishing, or out on the golf course with his buddies. His love of competition was matched only by the laughter, good‑natured teasing, and camaraderie he shared with the people around him.
Some of Henry’s happiest days were spent at campgrounds with extended family or in the bleachers of local racetracks, cheering on the action and enjoying the company. He was a lifelong state fair attendee, logging countless steps across the fairgrounds and making sure to visit family at their campsite year after year. Henry also loved taking scenic drives with his wife, Gina—always in a freshly washed car and often stopping for ice cream along the way. These simple traditions were woven into the rhythm of his life.
Above all, Henry was deeply devoted to his family. He showed up without hesitation for his children and grandchildren. He never missed a chance to support them, celebrate them, or simply be present in the moments that mattered. Henry loved in a way that was steady and unwavering—strong without needing to be loud. His humor brought lightness to everyday life, and he had a rare gift for making others feel valued just by being himself.
Henry’s legacy lives on in the people he loved, the memories he helped create, and the quiet strength he carried through every chapter of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Gina Inman; daughter, Heidi (Todd) Vogel of Bloomfield; son, Wade (Tess) Inman of Bloomfield, Iowa; step‑sons, Troy Strong of Indianola, Iowa, and Koree (Angie) Strong of Ottumwa, Iowa; two grandchildren, Reid and Rigs; six step‑grandchildren, Quincey, Jake, Hannah, Jack, Kaelyn, and Ashlee; brother, Rick (Deb) Inman of Malcom, Iowa; and sister, Shirley (Dale) Walker of Farson, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Gerald Atwood; three brothers, Jerry, Reed Jr., and Ronald Inman; and his in‑laws, Harold and Virginia Gipson.
A private family burial will be held at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield on Saturday, May 2, 2026. A celebration of life gathering will follow on May 2, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Bloomfield Country Club. A memorial has been established for his family.
