Sandra Faye Jones, 82, of Ottumwa died at 9:19 p.m. February 26, 2026 at her residence.
She was born June 27, 1943 in Ottumwa to Donald Vernon and Maxine M. Mort Hucks. Sandra married Norman Shoop and they later divorced. She married Clarence William Jones October 5, 1975 and he preceded her in death April 6, 1997.
A 1962 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Sandra earned a sociology and psychology degree from William Penn University. She served in the United States Air Force. Sandra worked 10 years at Elmwood Group Home and throughout the years at Tenco Enterprises.
Surviving are her children, Tina (Bruce) Jones of Ottumwa, Derrick (Denise) Shoop of Clinton, Patrick Shoop (Brandie Calvert) of Ottumwa; 2 stepsons, Brion Jones of Forest Park, GA, Michael Jones of Ottumwa; a stepdaughter, Toni Lynne Jones of Ottumwa; 13grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Crowder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Aaron Michael Jones; a stepson, Clarence William Jones, Jr.; 2 sisters, Donna St. Claire, Janice Benedict; her companion, Mike Gordon.
Her body has been cremated.
Graveside services and inurnment will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5th, at Bethlehem Cemetery near Floris with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating. Military services will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
