Richard Melvin Chisman, 91, of Ottumwa died at 10:40 a.m. March 31, 2026 at Vista Woods Care Center.
He was born August 14, 1934 in Ottumwa to Theodore and Esther Cary Chisman. He married Charlene Ferol Palmer on June 22, 1962.
A 1952 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Richard served in the US Army. He worked for the city of Ottumwa retiring in 1994.
Richard was a member at First Christian Church and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.
Surviving is his wife, Ferol; a sister, Joyce (Robert) Meeker of Virginia Beach, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Joanne Sigman.
His body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
