Marilyn Frances Bigham, 87, of Ottumwa died at 12:07 a.m. February 18, 2026 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
She was born June 7, 1938 in Ottumwa to Merrill and Frances Sklavos Bean. Marilyn was raised by Lucille Harrison Bean, who she considered her mother. She married Leonard Vernon Bigham Jr. March 14, 1981 and he preceded her in death November 25, 2015.
A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she graduated from Ottumwa High School.
Marilyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. Marilyn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, Bill (Vicky) Mitrisin of Wade, NC; 2 grandchildren, Melissa (Scotty) Norris and Heather (William) Hamilton; 6 great grandchildren, Ayden, Chloe, Landon, Paisley, Andrew and Harper; and a sister, Beth (Bill) Padget and Appleton, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Martin Bean and Michael Bean.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday February 27th at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor James Preus officiating. Family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
