Monday, February 16, is a state and federal holiday in observance of George Washington’s birthday (Presidents Day). Several City of Ottumwa offices and services will be impacted.
Ottumwa City Hall and the Ottumwa Public Works Central Garage will be closed on Monday, February 16. The Ottumwa, Calvary, and Jewish Cemetery Office, located at 1302 North Court, will also be closed that day.
The Ottumwa Police Department Records Desk will be closed for Presidents Day. Both the Ottumwa/Wapello Landfill and the Recycling Center will not be open on Monday.
Residential trash and recycling normally collected on Monday, February 16, will be picked up on Tuesday, February 17. Bulky items typically collected on Tuesdays will instead be picked up on Thursday, February 19. There will be no changes to county customer collection dates. Bridge City Sanitation offices will be closed for the holiday.
The Ottumwa Public Library will be closed on Monday. Ottumwa Water and Hydro offices will also be closed in observance of Presidents Day.
The Beach Ottumwa will remain open with regular lap swim hours and scheduled evening programs on Monday; however, administrative offices at The Beach will be closed for the holiday.
