A Wind Advisory has been issued for a significant portion of central and southern Iowa, affecting multiple counties including Audubon, Guthrie, Dallas, Polk, Jasper, Poweshiek, Cass, Adair, Madison, Warren, Marion, Mahaska, Adams, Union, Clarke, Lucas, Monroe, Wapello, Taylor, Ringgold, Decatur, Wayne, Appanoose, and Davis. This advisory is in effect from midnight tonight until noon CST on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Forecasts indicate that northwest winds will reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts potentially soaring to 50 or even 55 mph. Such strong winds can pose risks to the community, as they may blow around unsecured objects and lead to the downing of tree limbs. Residents should be aware that isolated power outages may also occur as a result of these conditions.

Drivers, particularly those operating high-profile vehicles, are urged to exercise extra caution, as the gusty winds can create challenging driving conditions. It is advisable for individuals to secure outdoor items such as furniture, decorations, and other loose objects to prevent damage or injury.
