The Davis County boys basketball team fought madly to crawl out of an early hole versus EBF by eventually lost to the Rockets 69-61.
Mason Simmons scored a team-high 19 points for a Davis County squad that was looking for its third straight victory over EBF after sweeping the Rockets a year ago.
The Mustangs hit seven three-pointers to EBF’s two but the Rockets used the strong inside play of Gavin Spaur (26 points) and Emmett Holohan (23 points) to dominate the paint.
EBF led 28-11 in the second quarter and made 25 of 46 free throws in the game. Davis County was 14 of 31 at the foul line.
