Domestic Assault Investigation Leads to Arrest in Birmingham

Van Buren County deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance at approximately 5:00 p.m. on December 28, 2025, in the 200 block of Main Street in Birmingham.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies made contact with a female victim who reported a disturbance involving her husband. The victim told deputies she was physically assaulted after an argument escalated. She stated the suspect grabbed her by the throat and punched her in the face.

Deputies observed a large laceration on the victim’s left forearm along with bruising that appeared to be several days old on her face and both arms. Due to her injuries, the victim was transported by ambulance to the Van Buren County Hospital for treatment.

The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Brian B. Beebe, was located a short time later and taken into custody. Beebe acknowledged being involved in a physical altercation with the victim. Deputies also noted a visible scratch on the right side of the victim’s face. A witness at the scene reported that Beebe was the aggressor and initiated the physical confrontation.

Court documents indicate that all parties involved were intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Beebe has been charged with Aggravated Domestic Abuse Assault, Violation of a No Contact Order, and Operating While Intoxicated (first offense). He remains in custody awaiting his initial court appearance.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
