A 30-year-old Fairfield man is facing a domestic abuse charge after police responded to a welfare check prompted by reports of screaming.
Justin Olson was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault – 1st Offense, a simple misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to a Fairfield residence around 4:46 p.m. on Friday, November 14th. When they arrived, officers reported seeing Olson outside the home, still yelling and allegedly unaware of their approach.
The victim told police that Olson had been increasingly agitated throughout the day and allegedly struck his head against her forehead—an act she described as being “head-butted.” She said she was able to partially block the impact with her hands.
Officers also noted a dark bruise on the victim’s forearm. According to court documents, she stated the bruise was from a separate incident the previous Sunday night, when Olson allegedly pushed her down and kicked her in the basement of the residence.
Police reported that Olson was covered in sweat at the time of contact and admitted to screaming.
Olson was taken into custody and later released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order has been requested, and a pretrial conference is scheduled for December 18th in Jefferson County Magistrate Court.
