On September 28, Centerville police responded to a trespassing call in the 800 block of East Jackson Street.
Officers found 27-year-old Haley Boyd-Webb of Ottumwa sitting inside a camper on the property. She was told to leave, but according to court records, Boyd-Webb went to a neighboring property where she began yelling and banging pieces of lumber against a trailer.
Police say Boyd-Webb was taken into custody for disorderly conduct, but while being placed in the patrol car she resisted and kicked an officer in the chest. She was transported to the Appanoose County Jail.
During the booking process, jail staff reported that Boyd-Webb became combative. Documents state she walked behind the booking counter, grabbed cleaning wipes, and refused to return to her cell. When a jailer attempted to escort her back, Boyd-Webb allegedly shoved the jailer into a wall, then struck her multiple times, pulled her hair, and bit her on the chest. The jailer was left with visible injuries, including a facial wound and hair loss, before regaining control and securing Boyd-Webb in a holding cell.
Boyd-Webb is now facing additional charges, including assault on persons in certain occupations with intent to injury, a Class C felony.
