At approximately 4:19 PM on October 1, 2025, the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle accident on Highway 34 near Exit 199 (Eldon).
First responders arrived on scene and determined it was a single-vehicle rollover crash involving one occupant. Despite lifesaving efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Out of respect for the family and friends, the name of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by ORMICS, Batavia Fire and Rescue, and the Jefferson County Ambulance Service.
The accident is being investigated by us. Further details may be released as the investigation continues.
