A 27-year-old Fairfield man has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking another man at a residence on Saturday.
Clinton McCarty faces 1 count of Assault – Intend to Cause Pain/Injury, a simple misdemeanor, stemming from an incident that occurred on September 13th.
According to police reports, McCarty arrived at the victim’s residence on Saturday and confronted the victim over alleged comments made about McCarty’s fiancé. The confrontation quickly escalated when McCarty allegedly struck the victim in the face with a closed fist. The attack continued as McCarty reportedly took the victim to the ground and continued striking him in the face.
The victim sustained injuries from the alleged assault, including 2 small lacerations to his lower lip.
