Jefferson County Health Center (JCHC) is proud to join the fight against breast cancer this October with a series of activities designed to raise awareness, honor survivors, and encourage early detection through mammograms.
To highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Month, JCHC has decorated the trees at the front of the building with pink ribbons and lit the hospital’s sign in pink. In addition, the Breast Cancer Mammogram waiting room has been newly refreshed with updated paint, inspiring wall art, and a coffee bar to provide patients with a more welcoming and comfortable experience.
As part of the month-long observance, JCHC invites all local businesses and community members to participate in Pink Out Day on Tuesday, October 21st. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink, take a photo, and post it on Facebook while tagging @JeffersonCountyHealthCenter to show support for those impacted by breast cancer.
To further promote awareness and encourage screenings, all individuals who complete a mammogram during October will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a gift basket valued at more than $400. The basket includes generous donations from local women-owned businesses, such as:

“With these efforts, we not only want to raise awareness but also remind our community how important early detection is,” said Angie Bartholomew, Imaging Manager at JCHC. “A mammogram can save lives, and we encourage everyone who is due for one to schedule during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
