The Oskaloosa Community School District says a teacher has been placed on administrative leave after comments made on social media following the slaying of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, 31, was gunned down while speaking to a crowd of college students in Utah on Wednesday. After news of his death spread, Matt Kargol, an art teacher at Oskaloosa High School allegedly made on post on his Facebook page which read, “1 Nazi down.”
The district says it was notified of the post at 5:15 PM on Wednesday and have launched an investigation.
“Our team has been working on this throughout the evening and taking steps consistent with district policy. We recognize our community’s concerns, and we have an investigation in process. We will keep you informed when we have more to report.”
