As NFL fans gear up for another season, Special Olympics Iowa is inviting supporters to join the action through Pigskin Madness, an annual fundraiser that turns football into an opportunity to make a difference.
For $25 a ticket—or $100 for a bundle of five—participants can take part in a unique game that runs throughout the 18-week NFL regular season. Each ticket includes a set of four randomly assigned NFL teams for every week of play. At the end of each week, the combined score of those four teams determines if a ticket is among the winners.
There are 72 chances to win over the course of the season, with weekly cash prizes going to tickets with the highest and lowest total scores. Top winners can earn up to $125, while even the lowest-scoring ticket of the week still brings in a $25 prize.
All proceeds support Special Olympics Iowa, helping fund year-round athletic training and competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities across the state.
Tickets are available online and in paper form. And in the event the football season is canceled, organizers say weekly winners will still be drawn at random.
