Gary Wayne Baker, 67, of Ottumwa, died July 1, 2025 at Oakwood Specialty Care in Albia.
He was born July 10, 1957 in Ottumwa to Thomas Franklin Baker Jr. and Marilyn Florine Parcel Baker.
A 1976 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Gary had worked for various farmers and owned his own mowing business. He also worked at Everco for 8 years and at Joe’s Machine Shop for 5 years. He enjoyed working on motorcycles and vehicles.
Surviving is his brother, Alan (Heather) Baker of Cedar Rapids; a nephew, Kyle (Lauren) Baker; 2 great-nieces, Millie and Lorelai; an uncle, Dave (Lynette) Baker of Ottumwa; and aunts, Carol (Richard) Beaver of Cedar and Bev (Jap) Holt of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Baker.
Visitation will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 5th, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery at a later date.
