Pastor Dennis Harold Miller, 72, of Ottumwa died at 2:36 a.m. July 1, 2025 at Select Specialty Care at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
He was born November 21, 1952 in Ottumwa to Harold and Geraldine Farr Miller. Dennis married Teresa Ann Rogers August 18, 1990.
A 1971 graduate of Ottumwa High School Dennis attended Indian Hills Community College, the University of Iowa and graduated from William Penn University with a degree in accounting. Dennis owned and operated his own business AIM, a job placement for individuals with disabilities. He was also a pastor for 17 years pastoring in Avery, Lovilla and Bussey.
Dennis played bass guitar in several bands in the 1970’s. He enjoyed fishing, watching and making fun of movies, laughing at his own jokes, spending time with his dogs and especially spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife, Teresa; children, Krista (Aaron) Tedrow of Ottumwa, Adam Miller of Des Moines and Phillip Miller of Pleasant Hill; a granddaughter, Amelia Tedrow; a sister, Connie (Gary) Smith of Adel; father-in-law, Gerald Dean Rogers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve & Julie Rogers and Pam & Randy Moffit; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Cole Miller; and mother-in-law, Coletta Rogers.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Monday July 7th at Reece Funeral Home with family present to greet friends from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday July 8th at Family Harvest Church in Agency. Cremation will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
