A Washington man wanted on burglary charges was arrested Wednesday in Ottumwa.
Wapello County authorities took 26-year-old Colton Pategas into custody on a Washington County warrant for violating probation. The original charges stem from a string of break-ins in Washington last year.
Court records show that in June 2023, Pategas was arrested by Washington Police on five counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of attempted burglary. The charges were tied to a series of business break-ins in the area. He later pleaded guilty to three counts of third-degree burglary, with the remaining charges dropped.
Following his arrest in Ottumwa, a detainer was placed with the Wapello County Jail. Pategas was transferred to the Washington County Jail, where he remains held on a $15,000 bond.
