A Former childcare employee is accused of breaking a child’s arm.
Taryn Steenhoek, 21, is facing a Class D Felony for child endangerment.
Steenhoek was employed at New Horizons in Pella.
Court records state on May 21st, Steenhoek was a caregiver.
Steenhoek was taking the children outside, when she grabbed child by the arm and ended up lifting the child off the floor, which caused a fracture in the child’s arm which required medical treatment.
Steenhoek first lied to her supervisor about how the injury happened.
Court records state when Steenhoek was questioned a second time she confessed to her supervisor what actually happened. Steenhoek also confessed to Marion County Deputies she was frustrated at time.
Steenhoek is being held in the Marion County Jail awaiting a arraignment hearing which is scheduled for July 3rd.
