In a significant gesture of community support, the Board of Directors of Bridge View Center, Inc., represented by President Jamie Scott and Secretary Dianne Haas, proudly announced a donation of $120,000 to the City of Ottumwa. This contribution will assist in the daily operations of Bridge View Center throughout the fiscal year 2025.
With this latest donation, Bridge View Center, Inc. has now provided over $1.9 million in supplementary funding to the City since March 2009, bringing the total to an impressive $1,955,000. These funds come from the Bridge View Center, Inc. Endowment Trust fund, established in 2005 to ensure the ongoing support of the center’s operations.
The commitment to the community doesn’t stop there. Bridge View Center, Inc. originally raised $2.5 million for the center’s construction between 2005 and 2006, followed by an additional $2 million for the Endowment Trust Fund. The overall cost of the Bridge View Center was $23 million, funded through a combination of local, state, and private contributions, including $7.5 million from Vision Iowa, $12 million from the City of Ottumwa, and $1 million from Wapello County.
This latest donation reflects Bridge View Center, Inc.’s continued dedication to enhancing the cultural and operational landscape of Ottumwa, ensuring that the center remains a vibrant hub for the community.
