A group of recent Pella High School grads is turning heads this spring with a fun, heritage-inspired project. Treyton Turnbull, Ryan Sales, Donovan Helle, Nic Stanley, and Kaiden Hol have joined forces as The Clog Fathers to compete in this Saturday’s Red Bull Soapbox race in Des Moines.
Their vehicle, called The Clog Cruiser, is modeled after a classic wooden shoe — a nod to Pella’s Dutch roots. But that’s not all; the team has several other Dutch-themed surprises planned to make their presentation stand out.
