An Ottumwa woman was arrested after police say she repeatedly stabbed her boyfriend with a knife over the weekend.
27-year-old Kierstyn Puffinbarger has been charged with willful injury, a Class D felony, and domestic abuse assault – displaying or use of a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.
On May 11th at 5:00 AM, court records say Puffinbarger stabbed the victim three times with a knife, twice in the arm and once in the leg, in their shared residence in Ottumwa. Police say the victim was also cut on the hand in an attack that was described as “unprovoked.” According to court documents, Puffinbarger and the victim are parents to multiple minor children.
Puffinbarger was taken into custody and transported to the Wapello County Jail. She was later freed after posting a $7,000 bond.
Puffinbarger has been ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
