The Mahaska County Soil and Water Conservation District, in partnership with the Friends of Mahaska County Conservation, is excited to host a Native Plant Sale at the Environmental Learning Center, located at 2342 Hwy 92, Oskaloosa, Iowa.
The plant sale will take place every Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, continuing while supplies last.
This sale is more than just a chance to beautify your yard—it’s an opportunity to support native pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Native plants are essential for these species, providing the nectar, pollen, and habitat they rely on to survive. By planting native, you’re directly contributing to healthier ecosystems and more resilient landscapes.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward future conservation projects in Mahaska County, helping protect natural resources, restore habitat, and enhance outdoor spaces for wildlife and community members alike.
Accepted payment methods include cash, check, and Venmo.
Whether you’re a gardener, nature lover, or just looking to make a positive impact, this is a great
opportunity to support local conservation while helping pollinators thrive.
