James E. Howard, 70, of Agency, died at 1:27 p.m., May 4, 2025 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born July 16, 1954 in Ottumwa to Glen and Florine Norton Howard. He married Melissa Scherer and they later divorced.
A resident of Agency most of his life, James was a graduate of Ottumwa High School. He worked at Rockwell for 10 years.
James was an avid sports fan especially of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed dirt track racing.
Surviving are his children, Dustin Howard of Eldon, Amanda Baumgartner (Terry Roling) of Ottumwa; 2 grandchildren, Avery and Alexis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Howard; a grandson, Aidan Baumgartner; 2 brothers, Michael and Steve Howard.
His body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
